Purpose

This diary helps you bring awareness to a specific lifestyle change you want to make, such as reducing caffeine, incorporating more movement, or limiting screen time. By tracking what you do, how you feel, and the thoughts that show up along the way, you'll begin to notice patterns. This deeper awareness can help you make intentional, sustainable changes that align with your wellness goals.

Step 1

Choose Your Focus - Decide on one small lifestyle change you want to observe or adjust. For example:

  • Reduce caffeine intake

  • Take one extra walk each week

  • Limit screen time before bed

Step 2

Daily Entries - Each day, briefly record:

  • What you did toward your chosen change

  • What you didn’t do

  • How you felt when you followed through or didn’t

  • Any thoughts that came up around this

Step 3

Weekly Reflection - After a week (or two), take some time to review your entries and reflect on:

  • Any patterns you notice (e.g., time of day, mood, environment)

  • When the change felt easiest or hardest

  • What emotions were linked to success or struggle

  • Helpful thoughts that supported you

  • Unhelpful thoughts that got in the way

Step 4

Refine and Recommit - Use what you've learned to adjust your approach if needed. You might change the goal slightly, or use helpful thoughts and patterns to stay on track moving forward.

A lifestyle diary turns everyday choices into valuable insights. By consistently reflecting on your actions, emotions, and thoughts, you gain clarity about what supports your wellbeing and what holds you back. Over time, these small observations can guide more intentional, lasting changes that strengthen your health and balance.
