The Challenge of Balance
As a busy professional juggling work, family, and personal responsibilities, I understand how easy it is to feel overwhelmed and lose sight of your health and happiness. Conflicting priorities can lead to dissatisfaction at work and frustration when we can't show up for our loved ones. I experienced this firsthand during my eleven years as a secondary education teacher. The rewards of teaching—designing engaging lessons and meeting energised students—brought me immense joy. However, the demands of the job impacted my chances of starting a family.

My Journey to Coaching
When I decided to switch to part-time teaching, the stress lifted, and I rekindled my passion for the profession. I used my extra time to study psychology, which sparked my desire to help others improve their well-being. I returned to university to study Counseling and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. During this time, I trained as a listening volunteer with Samaritans, supporting individuals in crisis. Over the years, I gained advanced accreditation in wellness and resilience coaching and became a fully accredited member of the Association for Coaching. My love for learning continues; I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in the psychology of mental health and well-being, deepening my understanding of the extraordinary experiences of those I work with.
Current Life and Responsibilities
These days, I still juggle work, health, and happiness. Although my fertility journey was challenging, my husband and I are blessed with two beautiful girls. I run a thriving coaching business and manage my studies, all while balancing a myriad of daily responsibilities. With my husband in the military, I often find myself solo parenting, which compounds my need to prioritise my well-being amid the chaos.
My Coaching Philosophy
During my studies in counselling and my time at Samaritans, I realised that while helping people in crisis is important, I want to support individuals before they reach that point. That’s when I discovered coaching—a profession that provides advanced levels of accreditation and supports real people with real concerns, not just executives and elite athletes.

I now work with individuals ready to make positive changes to enhance their health and well-being for a more fulfilling life. I have particularly recognised that the stacking of responsibility, expectation, and unrealistic norms experienced by professional women leads to overwhelm and burnout. I love working with these women to help them identify what is most important to them and make mindset or practical changes that bring their wellness into focus within the context of their busy lives.
